The first Voodoo Jewels fine jewelry collection is inspired by the literary figure of Zuleika Dobson, the protagonist of the satirical novel written by Max Beerbohm in 1911. "Though not strictly beautiful" Zulieka is a devastatingly attractive young woman of the Edwardian era, a true femme fatale. She knows no etiquette, she does not care about social conventions, and the judgment of the society that surrounds her. She's free to be herself and loves her physical features because they make her unique.
The choice to create, for the first time, jewels made with natural and therefore precious stones stems from the desire to celebrate authentic and spontaneous beauty, which does not adhere to the aesthetic standards imposed by society.
Every woman, just like a gem, is made special by small imperfections that should not be erased but emphasized and celebrated. Tourmalines, opals. carnelians, amethysts and tanzanites are some of the stones selected from the streets of Jaipur to make the collection. Each of their irregularities must be considered a precious detail, which makes this rings special and unrepeatable. Just like every woman's beauty: rare, unique and imperfect.
